About The Program

The GARDIAN incentive program is a program designed to reward GARD Protocol participants for participating in the protocol from day one. The GARDIAN token is a loyalty token that will be later redeemable for the GAIN token (the future governance/value accrual token of the GARD Protocol) on or before April 15, 2025. The GARDIAN token is necessary to enable the founding team to distribute ownership in the protocol before releasing the GAIN token. This distribution of GARDIAN will help ensure that the protocol’s earliest supporters have a stake in the protocol’s future success and will help decentralize the protocol more quickly.

There will be a total of 1,000,000,000 GARDIAN tokens minted that will be equivalent and later convertible to 5% of the total GAIN token supply (100,000,000 tokens). These tokens will be distributed by our protocol and other ecosystem partners to promote the growth of the GARD Protocol and broader Algorand community while making a commitment to decentralizing our protocol from day one. If more GARDIAN are minted in the future to fulfill the same purpose, they will be redeemable for GAIN at the same ratio. Also, if our protocol decides to discontinue the incentive program all undistributed GARDIAN will be burned and distributed GARDIAN will become immediately convertible.

ALGO Targeted DeFi Rewards Boost

  • Numbers subject to change** We will also announce how partner projects may boost incentives once this is determined.
  • 45% - 55% to GARD/USDC lending pool on Folks Finance.
  • 25% to ALGO/GARD on Pact.
  • 20% - 30% to GARD/USDC on Humble.

15M ALGO DeFi Governance Boost

  • Thanks to the passing of Algorand Governance Period 5 Measure 1, there is now an even bigger incentive to participate in governance via a DeFi protocol like GARD.
  • Users who participate via DeFi Governance on the GARD Protocol will also be eligible for their share of 15M ALGOs that will be distributed quarterly to DeFi participants.

  • Due to issues with our technical team our staking boost contract has gone offline. To make up for this we will send an airdrop of 30k ALGO distributed between users who were staking GARD throughout the entirety of 4/7/2023 and 5/5/2023. Please fill out this form by 5/19/2023 to help us retroactively pay out rewards via an airdrop. We will pay out rewards to the best of our ability but please acknowledge this may not be possible.
  • Beginning the week of May 8th, Folks Finance will add in a GARD deposit boost for users who deposit GARD into their lending markets. This should pay out 50K ALGO that we have sent them during the remainder of this governance period.

  • GARDIAN staking has been discontinued due to a compromise in the GARDIAN supply related to the MyAlgo hack. Please see the linked press release for more details.

  • Thanks to the passing of Algorand Governance Period 6 Measure 1 and 2, there is now even bigger incentive to participate in governance via a DeFi protocol like GARD. Here's how we intend to spend the ~269,461 ALGOs allocated to the GARD Protocol assuming cooperation of our partners etc. during period #7 to further promote the adoption of GARD in the broader ecosystem.   • Incentivizing Liquidity Providing: Dedicated to boosting rewards for liquidity providers. We have partnered with Humble to distribute 110,000 ALGO to boost GARD/USDC liquidity and intend to partner with Pact to boost ALGO/GARD deposits with 70,000 ALGO.
  • GARD Staking Boost: 30,000 ALGO will be sent via airdrop to users who were staking GARD between 4/7/2023 and 5/5/2023 to pay out retroactively. Unfortunately, our staking boost contract is no longer operational and we will need to partner with folks finance to replace this boost going forward. 50,000 ALGO have been sent to Folks Finance to incentivize the deposit of GARD on their lending platform. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you were staking GARD during this time please fill out the form linked here before 5/19/2023.
  • Targeted DeFi Rewards: We will reserve 5% of the ALGO we received (~13.5k ALGO) for targeted incentives, for example, buying GARD if the peg dips significantly. Any ALGOs spent here will then be distributed via staking rewards.

15M ALGO DeFi Governance Boost

  • Thanks to the passing of Algorand Governance Period 5 Measure 1, there is now an even bigger incentive to participate in governance via a DeFi protocol like GARD.
  • Users who participate via DeFi Governance on the GARD Protocol will also be eligible for their share of 15M ALGOs that will be distributed quarterly to DeFi participants.

  • We will be paying out 1,000 to 2,000 GARD/Week in our staking pools to boost the underlying GARD Protocol rewards rate.
  • During this governance period we will be launching new pools and either add or move rewards to different pools to ensure users take advantage of the highest value actions the protocol has to offer.

  • Once the GARDIAN staking pool on Yieldy runs out during January, we will move GARDIAN staking to the GARD dApp.
  • During Algorand Governance period 6, we will have 10M GARDIAN available to be earned in a no-lock continuously compounding staking pool for our loyal supporters to be rewarded.

5,000-10,000 weekly GARD Boost to our staking pools–we will target a GARD staking rate above 10% APR, however, we will always have a minimum of 5k/week and we cannot exceed 20,000 given our grant.
